PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out an accurate and precise measurement by using an analyzing method for obtaining a terminal activation rate of a polyoxyalkylene derivative, even in the case the polyoxyalkylene derivative has a large molecular weight. SOLUTION: The terminal activation rate of the polyoxyalkylene derivative with the molecular weight of 1,000-100,000, which has a terminal active group at its terminal bonding chemically to a physiologically active substance, is analyzed. After making the terminal active group labeled by using a labeling reagent having an ionic functional group, the analysis is carried out by using a liquid chromatography employing an ion-exchange column, and the terminal activation rate is calculated from an area percentage in a chromatogram obtained by an RI detector.
