PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a cast component designed to minimize mechanical working stress. SOLUTION: A casting core (32) for casting a metal component has a body in which solid portions (34) are positioned separately from each other at intervals via hollow portions (36). The body has at least one supporting element (38) which extends between adjoining solid portions. The supporting element gives rigidity and strength to the casting core during casting. The supporting element is optimally shaped so that the casting core is prevented from being broken during casting and also so that the supporting element restrains and minimizes the working stress occurring in the metal component around an area formed by the supporting element.
