A SIMPLE LOW COST METHOD AND PRODUCT FOR SCREENING TRANSGENIC AND NON-TRANSGENIC PLANTS FROM A LARGE POPULATION EITHER IN FIELD OR GREEN HOUSE

A T0 level, since the desired transgene and marker gene are linked together as well in heterozygous state, the screening can be done with all putative transgenic plants in Green House by applying the marker chemical (antibiotics etc.) on leaf to further confirming the presence of transgene product. Here before going for any costly method like PCR or ELISA for putative transgenic, we can screen the escapees from in vitro culture. The same can be performed in large scale screening of any such transgenic population in field while developing trasgenic hybrids, screening back cross progenies, maintaining foundation seed/breeder seed production, maintaining/multiplying transgenic varieties etc.
