PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost apparatus for presenting and implementing a method for acquiring reliable data and easily and rapidly analyzing the data without a necessity of a troublesome pre-process in the field. SOLUTION: The soil analyzing method partially takes soil out after it is picked up from a predetermined location, crushed and stirred, presses it, forms a disc pellet sample, stores detection data as an irradiation spot with an incoming X ray is moved in different regions on a surface of the disc by an energy dispersive fluorescent X-ray analyzing apparatus, adds a statistical process, analyzes the data and measures a content of heavy metal. The soil analyzing apparatus is provided with a sample stage driving mechanism having a mechanism for rotationally driving a sample stage and a mechanism for radially shifting the sample stage in a rotational plane.
