<p>PURPOSE:To cause a current to be conducted only at the time of a contact or noncontact action to eliminate a current conducted at the time of the transmission/reception of information and to reduce power consumption by using a cam and a motor as a means bringing the contact terminal of an IC card reader/writer into contact with the terminal of an IC card. CONSTITUTION:When a user inserts the IC card 9 into the IC card reader/writer in the direction of an arrow C and the tip of the IC card 9 reaches a position D, a photointerrupter, etc., sense the effect, and rotate the motor 7. The rotation leads the cam 4 to rotate through a worm 6, a worm wheel 5 and a cam spindle 10, whereby an arm 2 pushed to the cam 4 by a compression spring 11 turns and descends in the direction of an arrow A to bring a contact pin 3 into contact with the terminal of the IC card 9. The contact is sensed, and the rotation of the motor 7 is stopped. Afterward the IC card reader/writer gives the prescribed signal to the IC card 9, and such processing as reading, writing and erasing information is executed.</p> |
