PURPOSE:To perform the turning-on/off operation with a low power signal and to attain a latch function by applying an input signal to a light emitting diode through a flip flop circuit. CONSTITUTION:Only when a signal in the high level is inputted to a flip flop circuit 9, a light emitting diode 3 is allowed to emit light or is extinguished. If the light emitting diode 3 emits light when the input signal is in the high level, light emission is continued even after the input signal falls to the low level. Consequently, a voltage is generated in a photodiode 4, which receives this light, and is applied to the gate of a FET 5, and the circuit between output terminals 6 and 7 is kept turned on. When the input signal goes to the high level again, the light emitting diode 3 stops light emission, and consequently, the circuit between output terminals 6 and 7 of the FET 5 is turned off. Thus, the circuit is turned on and off with the same signal.
