482,430. Mudguards. AUTO UNION AKT.-GES. Oct. 22, 1937, No. 28924. Convention date, Oct. 23, 1936. [Class 136 (i)] In a mudguard, more particularly for motor-cycles, of the type having a movable part adapted to be swung out of the way to facilitate access to, or removal of, the wheel, the movable part is held in the displaced position by one of the stays. The movable part 11 of the mudguard is pivoted to the main part 1 at 12, and is held in the normal position by a U-shaped stay 3, which is provided on each side with a screw stud 15, adapted to engage a slot 18 at each end of a U-shaped bracket 17 fixed within the part 11, the studs 15 being secured by nuts. The bracket 17 embraces the curved portion or bridge 16 of the stay 3. When the part 11 is to be swung upwards away from the wheel, the stay 3 is detached from the bracket 17 and swung upwards to engage the slots 18 with slots 14 in a plate 13 on the pivoted end of the part 11, the plate 13 normally fitting within the fixed part 1 so as to make a mudtight joint between the two parts of the mudguard. |
