MANUFACTURE OF PLASTIC CAST RPODUCT SUPERIOR IN SOLVENT RESISTANCE

PURPOSE:To make mold release characteristics favorable by improving solvent resistance, by making use of a specific quantity of the total quantity of a filling material treated with coupling agent beforehand. CONSTITUTION:Artificial marble to be produced industrially is a polymethyl methacrylate series cast product and unsaturated polyester resin cast product which prossess aluminum hydroxide for their filling material from a view point of a feeling of transparency and that of depth, of noncombustibility and processing characteristics. A casting resin liquid is a liquid material cured by introduction of additional polymerization or ring opening polymerization or crosslink and a coupling agent is an agent having a radical bonding to the filling material physically or chemically and that bonding to a cured thing of the resin liquid chemically in a molecule. A silane coupling agent and zircoaluminate coupling agent whose bonding force to the filling material, first of all, is strong are effective and favorable from a view point of an improve ment in solvent resistance. An application quantity of the filling material for coupling agent treatment is decided to be 5-30wt% of the total quantity of the filling material.
