PURPOSE:To permit a shift valve selectable according to a vehicle speed even when a solenoid is troubled, and continue to run a vehicle, by forming a main pressure oil passage into a governor pressure oil passage to be supplied with a governor pressure according to a vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:A main pressure oil passage for selecting a shift valve (3-4 shift valve 48, for example) serves as a governor pressure oil passage to be supplied with a governor pressure according to a vehicle speed. Accordingly, even when an opening of a shifting oil passage 56 is closed, an oil pressure to be applied to the shift valve 48 is lowered as a vehicle speed is decreased, and the shift valve 48 is selected to a down side by a return spring. That is, when the vehicle speed is decreased, the shift valve 48 is selected to the down side irrespective of the on/off condition of a solenoid 64. Accordingly, even when the solenoid is troubled, the shift valve is selected to the down side at vehicle speeds less than a predetermined value, thereby allowing a vehicle to run at a just lower gear speed.
