PURPOSE:To enhance developability and transferability by forming a thin layer containing an organozirconium compound on the surface of a magnetic toner containing a magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:The thin layer formed on the surface of the toner contains the organozirconium compound, such as zirconium tetraquis-acetylacetonatate and zirconium dibutoxybis-acetylacetonate as zirconium chelate compounds, or zirconium trifluoroacetylacetonate as zirconium complex, or zirconium butyrate or n-propionate as zirconium ester. The layer containing the organozirconium compound is set to an optional film thickness, but it is preferred to set it to <=10mum, especially, <=1mum, thus permitting the obtained toner to be made suitable for development and transfer in electrostatic chargeability, charge injectability, and charge exchangeability. |
