PURPOSE:To raise absorbing efficiency for vibration energy, by restricting bending shear transformation to be extensible pure shear transformation, by joint effect of a corrugated pipe and hoops, set as a restricting member on the outer circumference of a cylindrical lead body. CONSTITUTION:An outside diameter restricting member 2, set on the outer circumference of an energy absorber 1 made of a cylindrical lead body, is formed of a metallic corrugated pipe 3 and metallic hoops 4 attached to the recessed parts along the outer circumference of the corrugated pipe 3. As this outside diameter restricting member 2 is superior in its horizontal bendability, by which a member can be bended horizontally as keeping the same area of section, compared with the axial elasticity of itself, the energy absorber 1 accepts the transformation which is similar to pure shearing (some remaining bend exists), and consequently, absorbing efficiency for vibration energy can be raised. |
