1. Method for monitoring intermediate regenerators (ZWR) which include a digital signal regenerator (DR) and a thelemetry signal regenerator (TR), between two line terminal devices of a digital transmission system, wherein telemetry signals are transmitted separately for each transmission direction via the same signal path as the digital data signals but in a different frequency position, wherein the first telemetry signal regenerator (TR), which does not receive a telemetry signal, cyclically transmits its own telemetry signal, and the telemetry signal regenerator (TR) of each following intermediate regenerator (ZWR) generates a telemetry signal which adjoins the last received telemetry signal and which includes results of a fault monitoring procedure, wherein a monitoring of the received and transmitted telemetry signal (TS) is carried out, and at the receiving-end line terminal device the intermediate regenerators (ZWR) are localised by counting the telemetry signals, characterised in that each telemetry signal regenerator (TR) generates a telemetry signal (TS) comprising at least one start block (S), a fault block (F) and a test block (P), that in known manner monitoring results of the transmission link and of the particular digital signal regenerator (DR) are transmitted in the fault block (F) of the associated telemetry signal (TS), that fault monitoring devices (UEC, UE2) of the digital signal regenerator (DR) are self-monitored by the simulation of faults, and that the result of the self-monitoring is transmitted in the test block (P) of the associated telemetry signal (TS).
|
