<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the air resistance under the used condition by forming the lens face inclination of a retractable head lamp to the predetermined angle toward the vehicle rear when setting it to a using position. CONSTITUTION:A retractable head lamp 1 is arranged on a vehicle which is called a slant nose and designed with its radiator grille section inclined toward the vehicle rear to reduce the air resistance during the vehicle travel. It is normally fitted to a retractable mechanism and covered with a cover 3 along the curved surface of a vehicle body 2 when stored. In this case, the lens 1a of the head lamp 1 is provided slantly at an angle theta (20 deg.-60 deg.) toward the vehicle rear with respect to the vertical direction X of the vehicle. Accordingly, the air resistance of the head lamp while in use is reduced.</p> |
