<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently absorb acidic gas by using the title polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether shown by the chemical formula, CH3O(C2H4O)nCH3 (where n is 3-9 integer), and wherein the molecular homolog distribution is specified. CONSTITUTION:The polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether composition shown by the chemical formula, CH3O(C2H4O)nCH3 (where n is 3-9 integer), and consisting, by weight, of >=60% n=4 homolog and <=30% n=5 homolog, or preferably consisting of 0.1-5.0% n=3 homolog, 60-90% n=4 homolog, 10-30% n=5 homolog, 1.0-20% n=6 homolog, 0-10% n=7 homolog, 0-5.0% n=8 homolog, and 0-2.0% n=9 homolog, or consisting of 2.0-5.0% n=3 homolog, 65-75% n=4 homolog, 15-25% n=5 homolog, and 1.5-5.5% n=6 homolog is used as the absorbent composition. Acidic gas such as CO2 is absorbed and removed by this absorbent.</p> |
