PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and color developability of a sensitive material and to reduce fog by incorporating a specified yellow coupler. CONSTITUTION:A two-equiv. yellow coupler represented by the formula is incorporated into one or more silver halide emulsion layers of a sensitive material. In the formula, R1 is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, R2 is F, Br or I, R3 is a group substitutable on the benzene ring, n=0 or 1, R4 is an org. group having two or more polarizable groups and X1 is a group releasable by coupling with the oxidized product of a developing agent. Other coupler and various additives may be incorporated into the sensitive material in combination with the coupler represented by the formula. Especially when a UV absorber is incorporated, the durability of a yellow image is further improved. |
