PURPOSE:To make a chip pocket smaller and reduce at cutting resistance by making both a broach and a work rotate relative to each other, thereby making cutting chips in a spiral shape to reduce the diameter of cutting chip curls and reducing clogging with the cutting chips. CONSTITUTION:A broach 1 while being passed through a work 3 and being drawn with a drawing device 11 is rotated with a rotation device 9 arranged on the drawing device 11. By the effect of this rotation, a cutting edge 2 is to perform an oblique cutting, a cutting chip 4' flows out at a certain angle to the direction perpendicular to the cutting edge, the diameter of the cutting chip curl remains small and moreover a cutting resistance decreases. As a method of rotating the broach 1, the broach 1 can be naturally rotated, rather than forcibly, by making the cutting edge 2 of the broach 1 tilted relative to the axial direction 12, thereby producing a force 15 in the circumferential direction.
