PURPOSE:To realize the high-speed increment of data of plural bits by securing the continuous connection among those basic component elements of the number needed for increment of data of (n) bits and processing the increment of the n-bit data by every adjacent two bits. CONSTITUTION:The basic component circuits DA0-DAm (m: maximum integer under n/2) are continuously connected with the carry outputs Cout of adjacent basic component circuits of the lower digit parts used as the carry inputs of the basic component circuits of the higher digit parts. The carries are transmitted every two bits among those basic component circuits DA0, DA1,...DAm where '1' is applied to the carry input Cin respectively. At the same time, the increment is applied to the n-bit data. An increment circuit of this example performs the increment of the n-bit data just by a single carry transmission. As a result, the carry transmission route is cut down to about 1/2 in terms of an increment circuit for n-bit data. Thus the working speed of the increment circuit is increased.
