PURPOSE:To reduce the operating load of an operator by displaying the operating items or the selecting items in a proper menu sentence on a screen and selecting a desired item among those displayed ones. CONSTITUTION:The pages of the menu displayed at a menu display part 1d can be updated based on the contents of the message displayed successively at a message display part 1a or with manual operation of a menu advance key 12. The contents of the message displayed at the part 1a can be successively updated by supplying data to an input data display part 1b via a data key 3 or selecting a desired operating item out of the menu displayed at the part 1d. An operator is guided by the message and can perform operations while updating this message. In such a way, the operating load of the operator is reduced.
