Process and device for superheating a saturated vapour. The process of the invention is characterised in that the saturated vapour originating from a vapour accumulator is passed over a support consisting of a divided solid material preheated by electrical means to a temperature slightly higher than that of the superheated vapour to be produced. The process of the invention can be employed on industrial sites in cases where, following an incident, it is necessary to produce superheated vapour for the time needed for the main source to rise to the sufficient power. <IMAGE>
