PURPOSE:To prevent water-separation at high temp. or in freezing and thawing, by adding an acrylate expressed with a specified general formula to a water-soluble high molecular compd. contg. acetoacetyl group, adjusting pH of the liq. to >=9 pH and so obtaining an aq. gel. CONSTITUTION:A compd. contg. more than two groups expressed with the formula I (wherein R expresses hydrogen or methyl group) is added to the aq. soln. of the water-soluble high molecular compd. contg. acetoacetyl group. Then the aq. gel is produced by adjusting pH of the soln. to >=9. A substance obtained by acetoacetylating the water-soluble high molecular compd. such as polyvinyl alcohol, hydroxyethyl cellulose or starch is exemplified as said water-soluble high molecular compd. contg. acetoacetyl group. Diacrylate or dimethacrylate of polyhydric alcohol is exemplified as the compd. contg. more than two group expressed with the formula I.
