<p>PURPOSE:To absorb a surge voltage when a high voltage power source is energized and to reduce the normal loss by providing connection switching means for connecting a surge absorber or a power converter to the secondary winding of a main transformer. CONSTITUTION:When a high voltage power source is energized, a switch K is closed, and a switch Sw is connected to a contact 2. When a switch V is closed in this state, a surge generated in a transformer T1 is absorbed to a surge absorber composed of a capacitor C and a resistor R. Thereafter, the switch SW is switched to a contact 1, and the surge absorber is disconnected. A PWM converter (a high frequency modulation AC/DC converter) CONV is connected directly to the transformer T1 to be shifted to a normal operation. Thus, the surge voltage generated when the switch is opened or closed can be absorbed, and the surge absorber having less loss at the time of normal operation can be obtained.</p> |
