PURPOSE:To furthermore improve the strength, wear resistance and conformability by forming an Ni-P compound layer having the specific layer thickness onto a taper cone friction face 1 of the main body of an Fe sintered alloy in which the constituent and porosity are regulated. CONSTITUTION:The hard Ni-P compound layer having 3-80mu average layer thickness is formed at least onto the taper cone friction face 1 of the main body of the Fe sintered alloy consisting of, by weight, one or more kinds of 0.1-6% Mn, Cr and Mo, 0.1-0.9% C and the balance Fe and having 0.05-5vol.% porosity. One or more kinds of 0.1-6% Ni and Cu and/or 0.02-0.5% B can be furthermore added to the above-mentioned compsn. at need. In this synchronizing ring, any characteristics among at least the strength, wear resistance and conformability are deteriorated when any requirements of the constitutional requirements are deviated from the above-mentioned areas. Since the titled ring has the high strength, excellent wear resistance and conformability with the objective members, it can sufficiently correspond to the high outputting, thinning accompanied by light weight and miniaturization of a speed changing gear.
