PURPOSE:To obtain a resistor capable of correcting a resistance value in a short time and with a long life without any particular necessity of aging by applying a voltage pulse to all the thermal resistors 6 of a thermal head for trimming. CONSTITUTION:A pulse voltage generation device 10 applies only the predetermined number of voltage pulses to thermal resistors 6 through a switching device 8 and a probe 7 after selecting and setting a pulse voltage to be applied and a pulse cycle, considering the resistance value variation characteristics of the thermal resistors in advance. Consequently, the resistance value of the thermal resistor 6 to which a voltage pulse is applied decreases. The thermal resistor 6 whose resistance value has not reached a target level is to be connected to the pulse voltage generating device 10 by operation of the switching device 8 again. Then only a predetermined number of voltage pulses is applied to said thermal resistor, and further the resistance value is allowed to drop. After this, the obtained resistance value is checked in comparison with a target resistance value again. |
