发明名称 PRODUCTION OF FINE SPHERICAL GLASS PARTICLE HAVING UNIFORM PARTICLE DIAMETER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain fine spherical glass particles having narrow particle diameter distribution and uniform particle diameter, by heating ground glass pieces having uniform volume and weight, softening and forming into spherical particles. CONSTITUTION:Glass filaments having uniform filament diameter are cut into fixed length to give ground glass filament pieces having similar volume and weight. On the other hand a carbon black layer having the smooth surface on the top of the firebrick. Then the ground glass filament pieces are placed on the carbon layer in such a way that the pieces are not brought into contact with each other and the pieces are heated to a temperature higher than softening point of glass in a furnace. By the heating, the ground glass filament pieces are softened and softened materials of glass are obtained by surface tension. Then the softened materials of glass are taken out from the furnace while being placed on the carbon black layer of the firebrick as they are and allowed to cool up to room temperature to give the aimed fine spherical glass particles.
