A method of combating unwanted vegetation which comprises applying to such vegetation or to a locus from which it is desired to exclude such vegetation a herbicidally effective amount of an alkoximinoalkylamide of the formula <IMAGE> (I) in which R represents hydrogen or alkyl, R1 represents hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkoxy, halogenoalkylthio, phenyl, phenoxy, formyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkanoyl or alkoximinoalkyl and R2 represents halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkoxy, halogenoalkylthio, phenyl phenoxy, formyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkanoyl or alkoximinoalkyl. |
