SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL HAVING EXCELLENT GRANULAR CHARACTERISTIC AND SENSITIVITY

PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and granular characteristic by incorporating a compd. which reacts with the oxidant of a color developing agent and imparts substantially no image density into a silver halide emulsion layer contg. silver halide particles and/or adjacent non-photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one silver halide emulsion layer contains the silver halide particles which have waving particle surfaces and are constituted of >=2 phases having different silver iodide contents and in which the average silver iodide content of the particles is higher than the silver iodide content in the outside margin phase of the particles. The compd. which reacts with the oxidant of the color developing agent and imparts substantially no image density are incorporated into the silver halide emulsion layer contg. the silver halide particles and/or the adjacent non-photosensitive layer. The sensitivity and granular characteristic are thereby improved.
