PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a side plate, to shorten a sealing part, and to enhance the sealing property of the title drier by overhanging the rotating shaft of a crushing impeller, and allowing the shaft to pierce the side plate on the delivery side. CONSTITUTION:The rotary drum 1 and the crushing impeller 2 are rotated, hot air is blown into the drum from a duct, and a blower is driven to circulate the hot air into an exhaust duct 7. Meanwhile, a material to be dried is charged into the rotary drum 1, agitated, crushed, gradually dried, and sent to the delivery side. In this case, the rotating shaft 4 of the crushing impeller 2 is overhung, the fixed shaft 22 of the rotating shaft 4 pierces the side plate 15 on the delivery side, the front penetrates into the rotary drum 1, and the rear protrudes from the side plate 15 and is fixed to the machine frame through a bearing 25. As a result, a constant quantity feeder 5 and a hot air blowing duct can be fixed at the external part of a side plate 11 on the material supply side, and the size of the side plate 11 can be reduced. The produced dry granular body can be discharged along with the exhaust gas and collected on the delivery side, hence the size of the side plate 15 can be reduced, and the sealing part 14 between the rotary drum 1 and the side plate 15 can be shortened.
