ACETABULAR CUP WITH BONE GRAFT SUPPORT PLATE

An acetabular cup is provided with a graft support plate (33) to support a bone graft in the vicinity of the cup. The graft support plate (33) is sufficiently flexible to be manipulable into the desired shape. In a preferred embodiment, the cup comprises an outer body in the form of a generally hemispherical shell (1), and a hemispherical lining (19) which (in use of the cup) is received therein, the graft support plate extending from an annular member (35) sandwiched between the annular end surface (7) of the outer shell (1) and an annular rim (25) extending around the periphery of the hemispherical lining (19).
