Topical compsn. contg. transfer factor were prepd. and used for dermatol. treatment of skin lesions such as blemishes, acne, herpes, simplex, condyloma, etc. Transfer facter was obtd. from human lymphocytes and mixed with a vehicle contg. DMSO or low mol. dextran or its mixt. Thus, a female with herpes simplex outbreaks in the vagina and vulva was treated with an ointment 4 times/day. Within 24hr pain and irritation ceased and within 48hr healing of lesions was obsvd. By 72hr all lesions had cleared.
