BUCKLE

The buckle securing the end of a belt with transverse ribs comprises a single moulding of a plastic material with an opening through which the belt can be inserted, a web with a transverse peak to engage an appropriate rib on the face of the belt, and a pair of lateral studs on the buckle sidewalls, when pressed inwards deflect sufficiently to allow the belt to be disengaged. The buckle has an acoustic device like a bell or speaker which switch is a contact or photoelectric type. The switch is embeded in a male or female member so that the engagement of the buckle can be identified with sound.
