PURPOSE: To obtain the subject structure comprising a thick bristle and a short and thin fluff, similar to a natural fur by subjecting a napped part composed of plural synthetic fibers existing together to a heating treatment and a cooling treatment under rotation and heat-setting the fibers. CONSTITUTION: This napped fiber structure has a napped part in which two or more kinds of synthetic fibers having different dissolution rate in a solvent exist together. A napped fiber structure having a viscous dissolved treating solution with 5-15,000 centipoise in an permeated state from the surface layer is heat-treated while rotating a cylindrical rotator provided with the napped fiber structure on the circumference in a vapor phase in a wet state, then the structure is cooled under rotation and the napped part is heat-set to give the objective structure. Preferably the synthetic fibers at the napped part have two or more kinds of fineness of 0.2-8 denier and 16-60 deniers, 5-80 mm napped fiber length and 3,000-20,000 fiber/cm<2> napped fiber density. |
