PURPOSE:To improve the shelf-life of an image formed by a magenta color matter by incorporating a specified magenta coupler and a specified bisphenol derivative in the title material. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion layer of the photosensitive material contains the magenta coupler shown by formula I and the bisphenol derivative (such as a compd. shown by formula III) in which one of phenolic hydroxyl groups is substituted, and at least one of phenol rings has a substituting group. In formula I, Z is a nonmetallic atom. group necessary for forming a nitrogen contg. heterocyclic ring, X is hydrogen atom. or a group capable of being released by the reaction with the oxidant of a color developing main agent, R is hydrogen atom. or a substituting group. The compd. shown by formula I is exemplified by a compd. shown by formula II, etc. Thus, the color reproducibility and the color density of the image formed by the magenta color matter are improved, and the shelf-life of the obtd. color image is improved. |
