ELECTRODE PLATE GROUP WELDING DEVICE FOR LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To perform group welding without generating burrs by dividing a cast-on-die and a lead feeding section at the foot portion of a weir separating a cavity from a passageway on the cavity side and inserting a heat insulating material between them. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating material 10 is provided at the foot position of a weir 3 on the cavity side. A heater 8 is provided in a lead feeding section 7 so that the molten lead 12 fed through a passageway 5 is not solidified, on the other hand a cooling pipe 9 is provided in a cast-on-die 6 to solidify the molten lead fed into the cavity 4 in a short time. The temperature of the inner wall 11 of the weir portion on the cavity side can be kept higher than the solidification temperature of lead for a while by the heat of the molten lead when it is fed, the excess molten lead is released through the passageway 5 during that time. Group welding can be thereby performed without generating burrs.
