A mixed 1,4-diketopyrrolo-(3,4C) pyrrole pigment of formula (I) is prepd. by reacting (a) 1 mol. of disuccinate with 99 mol. of a nitrile ACN and 0.01-0.2 mol. of a nitrile BCN or a mixt. of mol. or of a nitrile BCN. or enamine with the ACN and BCN or the mixt. of BCN in an organic solvent and opt. hydrolyzing the prod. In (I), A and B are each alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, carbocyclyl or heterocyclyl. The pigment has a good tinctorial strength transparency, storage stability and heat stability.
