Light liquid separator

A light liquid separator is described having a feed for a light liquid/heavy liquid mixture, a separation chamber for separating light liquid from heavy liquid, an outlet for the light liquid and an outlet for the heavy liquid, which outlet proceeds via an overflow edge and a small discharge orifice in the region of the discharge base. The separation chamber is subdivided into a preseparation space and a residue separation space. In operation of the separator, these spaces are connected together via an overflow edge, while they are essentially separated from each other in the idle state of the separator. The light liquid outlet of the separator is assigned to the preseparation space.
