<p>In order to dry wet materials, in particular wet raw cement material for the purpose of delivering into a cement-clinker production line, in such a way that very little investment is required in machines or apparatus and the operating costs for the drying are very low, it is proposed according to the invention to use a tubular cooling tower or an evaporation-cooler spray tower, present anyway in the exhaust-gas flow (10) of a cement-clinker production line, as a combined down-draught drier/exhaust-gas conditioner (Il) in which the wet raw cement material (13) is effectively dried, the combined down-draught drier/exhaust-gas cooler being operated again purely as an exhaust-gas conditioner for cooling and wetting the hot exhaust gas from a cement-clinker production line when no quantity or only a slight quantity of wet material is to be dried. A crushing device is arranged on the material side in front of the down-draught drier (Il), which crushing device advantageously has at least one high-pressure roller press (15) with material-bed comminution of the wet material to be delivered. <IMAGE></p> |
