PURPOSE:To simply obtain the title polyester by reacting sucrose and/or a low esterified sucrose fatty acid ester with a fatty acid lower alcohol ester in the presence of an alkali catalyst under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:First, 1 mol sucross is reacted with preferably 10-15mol fatty acid lower alcohol ester in the presence of an alkali catalyst (e.g. sodium carbon ate) in a solvent such as dimethyl sulfoxide at 50-120 deg.C under 5-80Torr or by using pressure of solvent boiling under cooling and reflux of solvent vapor for 2-8 hours to give a reaction product, which is heat-treated under pressure at 80-120 deg.C to distill away and remove the solvent. Then the reaction product after removal of the solvent by distillation is reacted at 130-180 deg.C under <=5Torr pressure for 0.5-5 hours and the prepared reaction product is reacted in s molecu lar distillation device while carrying out molecular distillation treatment to give the aimed polyester. |
