PURPOSE:To execute a copying operation at the condition such as a proper size and to reduce mis-copying by directly detecting original size on an original tray and practically detecting original size during carrying an original. CONSTITUTION:By a copying mode combined with a transfer paper, the size of the transfer paper, and copying magnification predicted by the original size detected by sensors 55 and 56 in the original tray 25, copying action is started with respect to the original supplied from the tray 25, immediately. The size of the original during feeding from the tray 25 to an exposing part is directly detected by sensors 59-61. When the combination of the transfer paper, the size of the transfer paper,and the copying magnification in predicted and set copying mode with respect to the practical size of the original detected during carrying until exposing ends is improper, the original is switched back without discontinuing the copying action. By modifying to a copying mode whose combination is proper to the practical size of the original, the copying action continues. |
