Recoil brake for automatic guns arranged between a recoil part of the weapon framework and a fixed weapon part. Two essentially identical structural units composed of a guide sleeve 15, 23 of a Belleville washer 19, 28 and of a spacer disc 18, 27 are arranged spaced axially away from one another in an axial extension of a stack of springs 6, a friction brake 20, 21 being inserted axially between the two structural units, the internal brake lining 22 of which friction brake is connected in a functional link to a sliding tube 12, the surface of which which is turned towards the brake lining 22 is produced without a surface coating. <IMAGE>
