CATALYST FOR HYDROGENATION TREATMENT OF HEAVY OIL

PURPOSE:To prolong the service life of a catalyst having desulfurization, denitrification and decomposition activities by incorporating a component contg. groups VIb and VIII metals of the periodic table into the central part of a molded body of a porous fireproof inorg. material and a component contg. a group VIb metal into the surface. CONSTITUTION:Compds. of groups VIb and VIII metals are added to a porous fireproof inorg. material and they are kneaded to prepare a first kneaded material. The surface of this kneaded material is coated with a second kneaded material contg. a compd. of a group VIb metal prepd. by a similar method and drying and calcining are carried out to produce a catalyst for hydrogenation treatment of heavy oil. This catalyst contains a component contg. the groups VIb and VIII metals in the central part and vicinity of the molded body of the porous fireproof inorg. material and a component contg. the group VIb metal in the surface and vicinity of the molded body.
