<p>PURPOSE:To make possible the subdivision and recording of a main scan line image using optical element arrays by making the optical paths arranged adjacently of a SELFOC lens array different in length. CONSTITUTION:Optical element arrays 12A, 12B consists of linear light emitting sections 14A, 14B with many light emitting diodes or luminous intensity limiting elements arranged in a scan direction respectively. The optical element array forms partially scanned line images lxa, lxb in the scan direction on an optical writing surface 11 through SELFOC lens arrays 13A, 13B, if the array is driven in response to an image signal. In the meantime, an image is formed on the optical writing surface 11 by the movement of a recording medium with the optical writing surface 11 in a subscanning direction. However, the partially scanned line images lxa, lxb formed by the optical element arrays 12A, 12B are placed together at lox in the scanning direction and at a point away by loy from the subscanning direction. The misaligned images in these scanning lines are linearly corrected easily by delaying the generation time of a signal driving the optical element array. Consequently, the scanning line image is subdivided and recorded by optical element arrays.</p> |
