<p>A device which receives and displays high-definition television signals and which does not display disturbed image or noise when the input video signals are not high-definition television signals or when the high-definition television signals are interrupted. First signals indicating the synchronization locked state or second signals indicating the synchronization unlocked state are obtained depending upon whether the frame signals are detected or not in the input video signals. When the first signals are obtained, outputs of a signal processing circuit (110) are selected to display high-definition television signals and when the second signals are obtained, outputs of a pattern generating circuit (114) are selected to prevent noise and the like from being displayed.</p> |
