摘要 A magnetic recording head has a pair of core halves (11,12) of a ferrous alloy, such as Mn.Zn ferrite that are coupled together and which has a sensing gap (13). at the interface between the two halves the surface is coated with a soft magnetic layer (14) that has the general formula of Co.x.MzC,w where M is one or more metallic elements of Ti,Zr, Hf.Nb,Ta, Mo and W. The x, z and w indicate the atomic percentages. Typically, the boundary ranges for the compositionM is given by 'x' being between 55 and 96, 'Z' between 2 and 25, 'w' between 0.1 and 20 and the sum of x, y, w being 100. The crystalline particles have a diameter smaller than 0.05. ADVANTAGE - Alloy offers low coercitivity, high permeability and heat resistant characteristic.
