Electro-medical suction electrode - accommodates externally-operated valve in suction cap housing with sponge between sealing lips

The electrode is arranged in a suction cup housing terminating in sealing lips (12). The housing has a suction stub connection (1). A valve operated from the outside connects or blocks the communication between the inside (5) of the housing (9) and the suction connection. The latter suction connection changes over in to a valve seat (6) in the suction cap housing which is enclosed by a pot-shaped valve chamber (18) in which a valve ball (2) is located. The suction cap housing is of elastic synthetic material and is formed with an operating projection (4) which protrudes in the valve chamber (18). In the operating positionm the valve ball is lifted from the valve seat, and the electrode (7) is established with its edge (14) in the connection to the sealing lips (12) in the suction cup housing. ADVANTAGE - Type improvement with simpler construction. Upon application and pressing on of suction cap housing, automatic control of valve is facilitated.
