A lamp reflector comprises a dished body 110 having a front opening 111 and a rear aperture 122 for a bulb having a filament 126. The dished body 110 has an upper paraboloid reflective surface 112 subtending an angle of about 165 DEG at the optical axis 116. The body 110 also has a lower paraboloidal reflective surface 114 whose optical axis is coincident with 116. The filament 126 lies on axis 116. The filament 126 lies in front of the focus 118 of the upper reflective portion 112 but behind the focus 120 of the lower reflective portion 114. The reflective portions 112 and 114 define an upwardly inclined step portion 128 and a horizontally disposed step portion 130. |
