PURPOSE:To eliminate the cleaning of a paper dust removing device by providing an image forming unit with the paper dust removing means which prevents paper dust from attaching to an electrostatic latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine is provided with an image forming unit U in the central part, wherein an electrifying charger 5 imparting an electrostatic potential to a photosensitive drum 4, a developing sleeve 6 developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the drum 4, and a cleaning blade 8 cleaning out toner remaining on the drum 4 are provided. The unit U has a paper dust removing blade 16a cleaning an upper roller 12a out of a pair of timing rollers 12a and 12b and removing paper dust attaching thereto, and a containing part 17 containing the paper dust removed by the blade 16a. Consequently, when an image forming unit is replaced, the paper dust removing means can be replaced at the same time; therefore trouble only for cleaning the paper dust removing means is eliminated. |
