a process for producing roasted edible nut meats which comprises applying heat to said nut meats by subjecting said nut meats to a temperature for a time period such that the degree of roasting substantially varies from the surface to the interior of the roasted nut meats. The nut meats may be further coated with a sugar syrup having a diluent content which is substantially evaporated by the heat of the roasted nut meats. |
