The present invention relates to a method and a device for coating a metal component 3 with a layer of polymer. The component 3 is entirely coated, by an electrostatic route, with a layer of powder in the form of polymerisable particles in a box 4 made of two superimposed parts 5, 6 of a fluidiser. The particles possibly deposited onto the surfaces to be spared of the component 3 are removed by scraping, the component being held in the closed box, and then the component is heated so as to melt, at least partially, the particles of the layer of powder before being transferred to the station for final polymerisation. <IMAGE>
