[Class 4] A supporting wing or plane for aircraft consists of a plurality of separate and complete sections each conforming approximately to a complete wing or plane, successive sections being disposed behind and overlapping each other, the upper leading surface of each section being tangential to a straight line passing from front to rear of the complete wing. The slots formed between the sections extend downwardly and rearwardly and the trailing section may be used as an aileron. The slots may be dimensioned so that their width at the narrowest section, disposed in the centre of depth of the wing, is approximately one-third, and the width at the upper and lower surfaces of the plane is approximately two-thirds of the extreme depth of the immediately preceding section.
