PURPOSE:To quickly identify many crossings to secure safe driving by calculating distance to a prescribed point on the basis of the present position of a vehicle and the position and the name of the prescribed point on a stored map, and searching the nearest prescribed point, and displaying this prescribed point as discriminating it from others on the map. CONSTITUTION:A control part 3 determines the present position of the vehicle on the basis of sensor output by an earth magnetism sensor 7 and a vehicle speed sensor 8. The control part 3 calculates the distance to the crossing on the basis of this present position and the positions and the names of plural prescribed crossings on the map written and set in a storage part 4, and retrieves the crossing of the nearest distance. Then, this crossing is displayed on the map display of a CRT 5 as being distinguished from others according to a retrieved result, and the crossing can be identified in a short time, and the safe driving can be secured. |
